Monday Motivation – Your Wellbeing in 2018!

In previous weeks we’ve looked at finance, and how to get the best out out of your money and finances for 2018.  Once you have put into place your financial plan, you can breathe a sigh of relief and start to concentrate on You. Now is the time to look at aspects of your personal life, and we will start with focusing on your wellbeing.

Your Wellbeing – I struggle with this myself, with running a busy cottage holiday business Bowerland Cottage Holidays, as well as a great dog training business, Devon Dogs. There never seems enough time to focus on my needs. Over the holiday period I have spent some time thinking about this, and here are my tips and suggestions on how you can look after yourself, and put you first for a change!

  1. One of the first things to do is to Slow Down.  Yes, that’s right, slow down and relax. You will probably find that you already have a full plate, a huge list of outstanding tasks, and plenty to occupy you for the next year, if not millennium!  Just stop and breathe.  Take stock, relax and do nothing, even if only for a short time each day.
  2. Clear your clutter.  A new year, a new start.  There are probably many things in your cupboards, on your shelves, under your bed that you don’t use, or don’t need, but just clutter up your life.  A good clear out will do you the world of good. Clear out your cupboards, sort out your wardrobe, get rid of anything that you don’t really want any more.
  3. It’s all about You.  Now is the time to re-design yourself, reform your style, your identity and your presence in your world.  All too often we simply trot along the same paths, doing the same things, wearing the same outfits.  Now, at the beginning of a bright new year, is the time to relook at yourself.  To search out a new you.  Don’t hide away in baggy clothes.  Don’t camouflage yourself in dark colours that don’t do anything for you.  If you don’t think you look good, you won’t feel very confident.  When you  do feel confident in the way you look, you will find this has a positive effect on your life.  When you look good, you feel great and this in turn motivates you in many other aspects.  Find out what colours suit you, what style of clothes suit your frame.  Get a new hairstyle, purchase some new clothes.

Make 2018 work for you by starting with yourself.
