Willsworthy Ranges

Rosie, Maisie & Cookie on Willsworthy Ranges by Kelly Murrell

Willsworthy Ranges is situated on Dartmoor and is a beautiful place to walk for all abilities. It is accessed from a car park to the right off the A386 approx 2 miles out if Mary Tavey travelling northbound. Red flags indicate when the firing range is in use and there are dogs on lead restrictions from 31st March to 31st August due to livestock.

From the car park there is a paved path which takes you up to the firing range and beyond, a short 45 min walk can be to turn right at the range following the stone path to Drakes Leat, walking along with the least on your left before joining another stone path that takes you right and back to the paved path. There is also access to the open moor and the walk can be as long or short as you like.

The views are of open moor, Cornwall and on a clear day Plymouth can be seen to the South and the North Coast of Devon to the North, Bowerlands is approx 10 minutes drive away.

This is a beautiful walk, one I very much enjoy with my dogs. I hope you enjoy it too.
