Salcombe Hill – along the South West Coast Path

This is an easy short walk, and should take you about 1.5 hrs. You will be able to take your dog with you, as it is dog friendly. Start off at the Salcombe Hill car park. Make sure you take the path from the car park past the National Trust board. Follow the path to your left, making sure you pass through the gap between the National Trust bollards towards to the coast. You will notice that the path forks in front of you, make sure you continue forward until you reach the cliff top.

Once you are at the cliff top, follow the path around to the right towards the Salcombe Hill orientation table. This identifies points of interest along the coast. Continue right along the path and you will come upon one of the benches. This is a good time to catch your breath, have a cuppa if you’ve brought a flask and to admire the fantastic views across Sidmouth.

Once you are fully rested and fit to continue, carry along the path leading around to the right. Make sure you ignore the South West Coast Path turning to the left which leads down into Sidmouth. Don’t take that route. Along the path leading to the right you will reach another fork in the path. Bear to the left and follow the path which will take you back to the car park from where you started.
