Morte Point, near Woolacombe

The walk to Morte Point is an easy dog friendly walk of about 2 hours. Travel to the village of Mortehoe and park in the car park. Once out of the car, take a turn to the left past the village shop. Then take the lane on the right between the church and pub (The Ship Aground). You will find this is signposted ‘Coast Path.’ Continue onto the path to Morte Point, keeping to the right of the cemetery and going through the official gates onto Morte Point itself.

Continue straight onto the grass track going downhill. After about 200 metres turn left and join the footpath which links to the coast path. The path will now take you around Morte Point. When you reach the signpost follow the direction which says ‘Mortehoe ½ mile.’

Continue up a gentle slope, keeping the old derelict wall on the left until you reach the point where you entered Morte Point. You will now be able to retrace your steps back to the car park.

If you have time, stop in the pub for a welcome break!
