This is an easy to moderate walk and takes about 1.5 hours. From the A30 go off on the turning for Okehampton, then take a right towards Sticklepath and Belstone. Drive through the little hamlet of Sticklepath and park outside the Finch Foundry (the last working water-powered forge in England now run by the National Trust). Walk through the gate, cross the bridge and follow the river which will be on your right.
Cross another bridge and follow the path and river (this time on your left) up the valley to Belstone. Stop for a refreshing pint and sit outside the Tors, there is an amazing view across Dartmoor.
You can return either over the moors, or by the river path. You can then pop into the Finch Foundry for a lovely cup of tea to round off the day!
