Chicken & Peanut Butter Frozen Dog Treats

Week 3 of Michelle’s fab frozen recipes. This week’s flavour is Chicken & Peanut Butter! If you missed last week’s Pineapple Mango recipe, here’s a link:

So, now that we are into the summer months, we thought it timely for a new recipe series – Frozen Dog Treats! On a summer day, an ice lolly can be a welcome treat for us humans right? Well here at Bowerland and Devon Dogs, we consider our dogs too, and let me tell you, they L-O-V-E  frozen treats!

I’m sure many of us have thrown our dog an ice cube or two, but why not be more adventurous and have some frozen treats prepared in your freezer ready for those particularly hot days. Over the next few weeks, we will share with you some recipes that we have found over the years – we hope your dogs will like them as much as ours do.

For these recipes you can use ice cube trays or buy some cool shaped silicone moulds – just make sure you know which are ice cubes and which are the dog treats, as you could give yourself quite a surprise if you mix them up!

We are always looking for new ideas so feel free to share your recipes too; we’d love to hear from you! Write to us HERE!

• 1 cup chicken stock (best if you have your own chicken stock rather than shop bought)

• 1 cup peanut butter

• 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves

  1. In a small bowl, combine peanut butter and parsley – set aside.

  2. Divide chicken broth evenly into a silicone ice cube tray, filling the tray halfway full. Place into freezer and freeze until set – about 1 hour.

  3. Spoon peanut butter mixture into the tray, filling the tray full. Place into freezer and freeze until hard – at least 4 hours.
