Why Teach Your Dog Agility?

agilityThis week we ask: why should you start training your dog agility? With competitions happening most weekends of the year, as well as training most days of the week if you want it, the sport of dog-agility is becoming extremely popular.

There are many different ways in which you can approach agility and here at Devon Dogs we believe in the importance of getting right from the beginning.

The first and, probably the most important reason, is for you and your dog’s enjoyment! It’s a super fun activity for you to enjoy together and it can strengthen the relationship that you have.

Agility-Training is a super high-energy activity for both you and your dog! It is a great alternative form of exercise to your daily walk that can sometimes get a bit monotonous.

Switch it up once or twice a week and replace your walk with a training session. The great thing is that you don’t always have to go to a formal training session – you can do some super agility training in your house or in the park! Don’t forget that you’re also getting a work out during agility training and you’ll be having so much fun you probably won’t even notice!

Check back next week for some more reasons why agility training could be the way to go for you and your dog!
