The Contemporary Craft Festival

Price: Adults £9 (Accompanied children under 18 free of charge).
This is an annual festival taking place in June 2019 in Bovey Tracey, celebrating all local craft makers and their wares. On the day you can expect to see over 200 makers of contemporary craft, including:
- Furniture makers
- Textile artists
- Glass makers
- 3D printing
- even surfboards!
As well as the wide range of items to look above, there will also be a children’s craft tent available with live music and a wide variety of great street food. Some of the other activities across the day include workshops on the following:
- Silk and flax papermaking
- Mosaics using recycled china
- Jewellery – Make A Bangle
- Needle felting Animals
- Make a Willow plant support
- Stained Glass Boats
- Spoon Carving
- Needle Felt a picture
- Copper Wire Jewellery
The festival itself was founded in 2003 and is a non-profit making company. Since it’s first year, the number of visitors has grown to over 10,000, leading it to become one of the most prestigious craft events the UK has to offer.
In 2018 the festival won their 3rd Gold medal for Visit Devon’s Festival of the Year and our first GOLD for South West Excellence Awards. If you’re staying with us at Bowerland, it’s definitely one to check out whilst you’re in the area!
