Super Hospitality and Great Training by Gail C.
I had the great pleasure of being able to do a training holiday at East Bowerland Farm with Devon Dogs and what an amazing experience it was. The weather was beautiful, warm and sunny, perfect so that you could see across the hills and dales for miles.
My friend and I stayed in the Old Dairy. Upon arrival we were treated with a package of sugar cookies, a tug toy and treats for my dogs back in Canada. And a nice jar of quite honestly the best marmalade I’ve ever had. What will I do when it runs out? Maybe there’s game for that?!? 🙂
The accommodation was beautiful, spotlessly clean, very private and the bed was warm and very comfortable. Bonus – the bathroom floor was heated. Clean towels, clean floors = brilliant. I did not travel with my dog(s) this time but could tell they would be very pleased being at Bowerland. Not only by the fact that they would have had their own bed, but by the endless trails that exist behind the farm. I was able to take a run on the trails and they are great, with super footing.
The accommodation is very private with its fenced yard and parking literally right outside your door. The indoor arena/training facility is a stone’s throw. Both trainers were incredibly professional, positive and super skilled. They offered me strategies that I have brought back to Canada with me.
I did a weekend of PDT training – (Pro Dog Trainer training), followed by a 1-2-1 session with Michelle. I met some incredible owners and trainers and enjoyed chatting with them about the games they played and strategies they used in training, it truly is one big helpful community. I met a woman that had beagles, so that was very informative and helpful, ‘hope to see you again Emma.’
In addition I worked with Coach Teresa, who worked with her amazing dogs reviewing games that I could take back to Canada with me to play. She answered my questions with great patience.
Do yourself and your dog a favour, get to Devon Dogs, East Bowerland Farm. Time waits for no one – human or dog! You’ll be warmed by the super hospitality and great training. Thank you Carole Langman, Lauren, Michele, Teresa! Hope to see all of you next year! So happy I finally got to meet you Lauren and Brave! Cheers. 🙂
