New Season – New You!

Autumn is a great time to make changes in your life. And what better way to lighten up your load than by trying something new!

Life may be busy, even hectic at times, but it is important that you do take stock from time to time. Especially when it comes to taking time to care for yourself. To put your needs first, otherwise you may find yourself going around in circles, and never actually reaching any destination!

A great time to review

A new season is an ideal time to re-think, to prioritise, to review what you are doing with your time.  Once you have looked at how you spend your time, there are some things you may be able to adjust, or simply leave out. And the next step is to look at how you prioritise your precious time, and think about what you need to put into place to make any changes.

Here are my tips:

  1. Work out what really interests you. It might help if you think back to earlier times. For example, what did you enjoy as a child?  And think about what brings you happiness. What brings joy into your life? What lifts your spirits?  These are the areas to develop, to put more time into doing what you want to do, rather than what everyone else wants from you.
  2. Take up a new hobby or interest that brings a sense of connection and engagement for you.  When you develop a new pursuit, a new interest, you grow in confidence. And in self awareness. This all feeds into a sense of well being and happiness.
  3. The world is your oyster. Think about whether you want to focus on inside/outside hobbies. Solitary or with others.  Sports or exercise type interests. Craft type hobbies, as well as other creative activities. The list is endless.

You can do it!

There are so many positives, and gains when you invest in yourself. First and foremost, you just need to believe that you can do it. It is important that you enjoy your precious time, especially your down time. Also, it is important to enjoy life to the full, and not squander any time on other people’s priorities and agendas. Think to what you want. You will find that your self confidence will grow as you  meet new people and develop new friendships and skills.
