The Time is NOW
Our time is so very precious. What are we waiting for? We only have a limited time in this world, we need to make sure we don’t waste it.
There is an old saying, “life is not a dress rehearsal – this is your time, now, make the most of it”! But do we always carry this out? Or are we caught up in the minutia of our daily lives? How many of us regularly tell ourselves – one day I will do …… And does that day ever arrive? Do we wait for something to happen, or do we make it happen?
One way we can keep this in the forefront of our mind is to put it down on paper. Commit ourselves to doing what we really want to do, rather than just drift along. This committing to paper is something that we usually tend to do at the turn of the year. Or sometimes when we are feeling particularly positive and forward looking. When we want to plan, to lay out our future, and to think about the next step on our journey.
It is a good practice to get into. To make a commitment to listen to your inner voice, to what you really want, and to do it at least every 3-6 months. To sit down and actually write it down, and to place it somewhere where you can see it, to remind yourself of what your dreams and ambitions are all about.
So, what is it that you really want to achieve? What is it you really want to do in life? Perhaps it could be something like:
- Take up a new passion
- Learn a new skill
- Buy a new car
- Book a holiday
- Start writing your memoirs
Or something more life changing like:
- Take a Gap Year
- Travel to somewhere new in the world
- Make a career change
- Move house, move area, move country
But whatever it is you strive for, whatever it is you dream about, make a commitment to yourself. Give yourself a time frame, and stick to it!
