Living Your Dream
Are you happy with your life? Have you found your Dharma? Do you even know what your dream is? So often we end up following others dreams, others ambitions and not ever actually fulfilling our very own dream. We sometimes find ourselves following a path that is dictated by money, by circumstances rather than than by what is in our hearts.
One commitment you can make for yourself is to allow yourself time to truly explore your own dream. You don’t want to live in regret. You really don’t want to play the safe game. There are many reasons for not living your dream, and these reasons are mainly led by fear. It could be a fear of not earning enough money, or of not taking care of your family so that they live as comfortably as they wish. But life is not all about money, or security. There is an inner truth in all of us. Other circumstances ebb and flow but inner truths stay the same forever.
You know if you are centred, grounded and on the right path. You feel it. As Joseph Campbell said “Follow Your Bliss.” It is so important to experience the richness of life, those special moments that stay with you. Make sure you connect with others, go out of your way to make those connections. Sometimes all it takes is a glance, the catching of someone’s eyes. A smile, a pleasantry. We can connect with others at all times, and to give is to receive.
Wealth alone does not bring happiness. But then again, it all depends on what we mean by wealth. What do you need in your life to feel a true sense of yourself? What is wealth to you? Make sure you differentiate your own individual values from those of the rest of your world. Family, friends, health, and spiritual life – these are important to me. Find the purpose in life that helps you to share, to give, that helps you to be who you want to be. It takes time, and effort. Time that you deserve for yourself, to find your inner calm, to find your dream.
I hope you find these tips helpful. It would be good to hear what you think about my ideas, and anything else you have come up with. Tell me what you think by posting your comments below. Why don’t you Share this with your friends and family by clicking the Facebook icon or following us on Twitter?
