Laughter is the spice of life

There is an old saying – Laughter is the spice of life. There is another one – Laughter makes the world go round. I like to believe that both these old sayings are true. When we laugh, it bubbles up inside us and releases a feel-good feeling that permeates throughout our body. And it really can be catching – so make sure you pass it on.  It’s much better to pass on laughter, which create good feelings rather than misery and pain, don’t you think?

It’s interesting how the good feelings that arise from laughter, can be passed on. How, by even just smiling at someone can affect and change the atmosphere and mood of the conversation. Even if you are on the phone, try smiling when you are dealing with a difficult situation, or one that you feel tense about. See what difference it makes.

In meditation, the instruction goes something like this. “When we feel an emotion, just notice the emotion, don’t dwell on it. Just observe the emotion and let it pass.” This is particularly helpful when we experience feelings of stress, or anxiety, or anger. But when we feel happiness, when we laugh,  it’s such a great way to lighten up a heavy mood… and that we can share with the whole world!

I would love to hear what makes you happy. Tell me what you think by posting your comments below. Why don’t you Share this with your friends and family by clicking the Facebook icon or following us on Twitter?
