Monday’s Motivation – Keeping a Journal
Have you started your journal yet? If so, read on for some tips and ideas and if not, why not? It doesn’t cost much (just the price of the journal) and a little bit of your time every day. The benefits are huge.
Start with a few moments of focused relaxation, either by meditating, listening to music, or just simply sitting still. Then pick up your journal, start a new page, write the date at the top, and write quickly without thinking too much. Don’t worry about your writing, your spelling or your grammar – it is literally for your eyes only!
Ideas to trigger your writing could include:
- reasons to be grateful
- your mood
- how you feel today
- a question to ask yourself,
- a list of things you love, hate, must do,
- a theme word – happiness, anger, passion, confusion, etc and use this theme word for a week.
This is just a small list – there are so many prompts you could choose from. But make a start on your journal writing, even if just for 10 minutes at a time. Try to see if you can manage it for 3 times a week.
I would love to hear how you get on, tell me what you think by posting your comments below.
