January 2017 – Healthy Living
The Monday’s Motivation theme so far this year, is focusing on New Year Resolutions. And the next thing for me to tackle is Healthy Living. Now, I ask myself, what does that mean for me? I guess the first thing that springs to my mind is balance. How to get the balance right. The balance between working and chores and relaxation and fun. I believe that if I can get this balance on an equal keel, it will go a long way to a healthier way of life.
I know I don’t always have the balance right. In fact, I don’t think I have ever had the balance right. It is too easy for me to focus on work and chores, rather than the relaxation and fun aspects of life. I wonder whether some part of me feels that in order to lead a good life, I have to work hard and complete all my tasks? Do you feel the same?
There is always a thought lurking at the back of my mind that to spend too much time on enjoying myself and having fun, is somehow selfish and perhaps even decadent. So, I need to change my mindset, and re-programme the part of me that holds me back from the enjoyment of life. I want to change the way that I always put work first, and everything else last.
“Do I know how to have fun, and how to relax”?
“What types of things would I enjoy doing”?
During this coming week I am going to concentrate on finding out. Perhaps even trying out some new pursuits. Once I have decided on the right balance for me, I can start to consider other aspects of healthy living.
I would be very interested to hear about your thoughts on Healthy Living. Have you got a clear idea and game plan yet, if so, what is on it? Tell me what you think by posting your comments below.
