Declutter, Create Calm, and Be Positive
Spring is a really great time to de-clutter, and tidy your home and work space. In fact, to sort out any space that you occupy. Even the garden could do with a clean up at this time of year.
There is a saying that states: “A tidy house creates a tidy mind.” I fully believe that. But sometimes we let things get on top of us. We hoard and clutter up our lives. This helps to cause anxiety and stress. There are a few things we can do really easily and quickly to change that.
Preparation is really important. Give yourself time, and the right sort of time. For example, first thing in the morning, or on a rainy afternoon perhaps. Not at the end of the day when you are tired, you still have dinner to prepare and it just seems like another chore.
Try asking for help from a close friend or colleague. Make sure it isn’t someone who will question what you want to get rid of. The last thing you want is someone saying, “oh no, don’t get rid of that, you must keep it.” Children also hate to get rid of anything. They want to hang onto old toys, old clothes, so make sure they are not around whilst you are in your de-cluttering stages.
