Commitment to Self
How do you commit to yourself? Can you bring into balance your inner spiritual self with your outer world persona? Do you honour your own integrity, do you even know what it is?
Many of live dual lives. We often mask our innermost thoughts and feelings. We feel we may hurt or annoy others. Or it just might be that we want to fit in. We want to belong and not stand out from the crowd. So we agree with what others say, even if we don’t really agree inside.
But when people really do stand up for what they believe in. When they actually acknowledge that they feel differently to another’s opinion or belief – then that is a time to honour that difference. To admire someone who sticks to their principles and says it how it is. How it is for them, anyway.
It is hard sometimes. It can be much easier to just go with the flow. We don’t always want to stand out or be different. But we do need to honour ourselves, our beliefs, our truths. We also need to be true to ourselves. To go to bed at the end of the day and say – I am proud of myself today because of …….
Make that your commitment. Keep up a daily ritual of asking yourself at the end of the day.
What am I proud of today?
Commit to yourself. You’ll be surprised at what you can come up with!
