Saturday Stories – Loubie the Hugger

This week’s true Saturday story stars a golden retriever named Louboutina (‘Loubie’ for short). At five years old, she has become world-famous for her doggy hugs. Most days she can be found on the streets of New York, standing upright in her red harness and trying to hug anybody that walks by. As you might imagine, she gets a lot of attention from passerby’s.

Loubie lives with her owner Cesear, who works at a local hospital. From a young age she used to enjoy holding hands with Cesar, who was only too happy to oblige. As she grew older, she began hugging Cesar as well and grew to love the embrace from humans.

One day when out on a walk with Loubie, Cesar noticed her trying to hug a stranger. He let her do so, and laughed as other passers-by also stopped for a hug. Before long she was stopping for anyone that would hug her.

These days she can typically be found on the corner of 5th and 17th street in New York, for human or canine friends alike! She even has an instagram account for sharing photos of her amazing friends! Follow her on Facebook.

At Bowerland Holiday Cottages and Devon Dogs we love happy dogs like Loubie. We provide a variety of workshops to help you play games and have fun with your happy dogs!
