Creating the life you desire – it’s all about your Energy!

Well, it all starts with your energy, the energy that fills your life, the energy you let in, and the energy you give out. As well as the energy you receive or give to others of course.

This energy is so important to you, don’t waste it on things that don’t really matter – in the scheme of things that is.  Or people, come to that.  Have you ever noticed how some people, and tasks, seem to drain your energy whilst other situations seem to lift you? A really good friend of mine told me once that she believed people were like radiators. Some people drained everything from you, whilst others topped you up. That is a great metaphor for me and helps me to be aware of times in my life when this happens.

So, the very first tip is to build on your natural energy levels, and to be aware of situations when these levels change. Take note of occasions when you come away from a chance meeting, or get together, and feel absolutely drained.  Keep yourself safe from any future connections of a similar nature.

Recognise what builds up your energy, what motivates you and gets you excited. Make sure you fit in plenty of these times, and situations, and make sure you do this on a regular basis.

Make energy your buzzword.  Think about it, at least weekly, if not daily. Plan it into your life, and write up how you feel afterwards. You will find that if you commit your thoughts to paper, (or electronically of course), it seems to ‘set them in stone,’ and of course you have the extra bonus of being able to go back and read your notes, time after time.  You want to be reminded on the things that have lifted you (or not) in life. And of course you want to learn from it.

For this week, see if you can be aware and fully conscious on situations that either lift or drain your energy.  Make a note of them, reflect back on each situation, and learn from it.

I hope you find these tips helpful. It would be good to hear what you think about my ideas, and anything else you have come up with. Tell me what you think by posting your comments below.
