It’s all about Perspective!

Today I am going to focus on perspective – which is the way you see something. The word Perspective has a Latin root meaning to “look through” or “perceive.” All the meanings of perspective have something to do with looking. So this week let’s focus on how you look at the world around you.

Appreciate what you have

You must have heard the old saying, “the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence?” This refers to the way we tend to look at other people’s lives and other things that they seem to have that we don’t have. But take note! The grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Sometimes you’ve got what you really need right under your nose! It is all about your perspective on it.

A good starting point is to discover what makes you happy

Only you can make you happy, not other people. Try not to worry about what other people think of you, don’t let them dictate your happiness. Don’t sweat the small stuff; you will find it really doesn’t matter in the big scheme of things, and don’t let things get you down. It is true, you can learn from difficult times and it is important to recognise the things you need to change. But try not to dwell on the problems, if these thoughts keep coming into your mind; make every effort to shoo them away. Think of your mind like a clear blue sky, and the negative thoughts being like dark storm clouds. Just simply blow them away.

I would be very interested to hear how you have got on. Also, please feel free to share your own ideas – I would love to hear from you! Read more of my Monday blogs HERE.
