Frozen Yoghurt Dog Treats

So, now that we are into the summer months, we thought it timely for a new recipe series – Frozen Dog Treats! This week’s flavour is Frozen Yoghurt!

On a summer day, an ice lolly can be a welcome treat for us humans right? Well here at Bowerland and Devon Dogs, we consider our dogs too, and let me tell you, they L-O-V-E frozen treats! I’m sure many of us have thrown our dog an ice cube or two, but why not be more adventurous and have some frozen yoghurt treats prepared in your freezer ready for those particularly hot days.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups yogurt
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed

Method:

  1. Melt peanut butter in microwave for about 30 seconds.
  2. Place all ingredients into a blender, mixer or food processor and mix well (until smooth)
  3. Pour into ice cube trays
  4. Freeze until firm
  5. Pop out of the tray and let your dog enjoy!

For these recipes you can use ice cube trays or buy some cool shaped silicone moulds – just make sure you know which are ice cubes and which are the dog treats, as you could give yourself quite a surprise if you mix them up!
