My son, Lloyd, and grandaughter, Eliza at Pennywell Farm

Pennywell Farm is an award-winning organic farm attraction near Buckfastleigh in Devon. Whilst it is aimed at families and children; with or without kids, you really must pay a visit there.  Although, I must admit, when I recently went there I had both the company of adults as well as my lovely grand-daughter Eliza. So, we were a mixed bunch. We were all impressed by the place, with lots to see and do.

We especially loved the the huge variety of friendly farm animals.  There were pigs, horses, goats, small pets such as rabbits, and many more. Most of them were approachable, with lots of opportunities for pet cuddles.

There were also many activities and rides to see and take part in.  We all enjoyed watching the miniature pig racing, it was hilarious. Eliza also made sure she went on a few rides and played on the rabbit go karts.  We had lunch there as well, it was a bit of a queue mind, but it is what you expect at this time of year.  Food was ok, perfectly adequate.  So, if you do have youngsters to amuse this summer, this is one place they will certainly enjoy.
