Launceston

When you are next down in Devon, make sure you pay a visit to the lovely little town of Launceston. It is really close to Bowerland, just a 15 minute drive away and you’ll find traditional butchers and bakers along with independent shops selling everything from second hand books to pet supplies.

There is an indoor Friday Market at St Mary’s Hall selling locally produced food, plants, together with an assortment of crafts. And don’t forget the market held in the Town Square every month, which is both friendly and and friendly.  We recommend visiting  the market on Monday through Saturday, as Sundays are very quiet.

Launceston Castle

Grab an amazing coffee, delicious cakes, relax, read your paper and while away the hours at Liberty Coffee. The popular, dog-friendly coffee shop,  is located on Northgate Street on the other side of the town. Their staff are really friendly, we love it there.  Another great place to visit is Launceston Castle. The Castle is definitely worth seeing, as well as being the starting point for two long-distance walks.

Finally, before we leave Launceston, we always make sure we pick up some Malcolm Barnacutt pasties to take home with us, these really are the best in Cornwall!!  Mind you, we may be biased.

I would love to hear what you think about Launceston, and any where else you have visited close by. Tell me what you think by posting your comments below. Why don’t you Share this with your friends and family by clicking the Facebook icon?
