Hatherleigh, West Devon
Have you visited Hatherleigh? It is the smallest town in Devon, with three pubs, a Co-op, a couple of craft type shops, and a post office.
If you are going, it is worth visiting on a Tuesday morning as there is a lively market where you can purchase some great local produce. I go there most Tuesdays, and really enjoy the warmth and banter of the stall holders.
And look no further for your plants, at fantastic prices. Make sure you stop for a cup of tea and a bun in the indoor cafe as well – you will get a real feeling of how things were in the years gone by. Before you leave, pop your head in the door of the auction houses, one is for household goods and the other is for livestock, chickens, rabbits, duck, geese
etc. You won’t regret going there!
