Budleigh Salterton is a small elegant seaside town that has the added attraction of a beach full of beautiful and unique pebbles.
The town itself is delightful, with plenty of independent shops and cafes. You can purchase some great gifts and treats. As well as some fantastic and independent clothes and accessories. There is a wide range of charity shops, all with something different to offer. There is plenty of opportunity to while away the hours when you come to Budleigh. One of the reasons I visit is the fantastic hairdressers Daniel K Neaves, where I have been coming for the last 6 years.
The other reason I am often found at Budleigh is that my very good friend lives here and we often meet up for lunch. If we have time, in between eating, drinking and just generally catching up, we also love to browse. The last time I was at Budleigh (this week in fact) we popped into somewhere just out of the town. This is a great place to eat called the Oak Barn Coffee Shop. An extra bonus is that you can also look through the lovely furniture they produce here. I spotted some great sofas, coffee tables and small chests. I will definitely be coming back to purchase when I have more time.
Why don’t you go for a walk along the beach, and collect some pebbles? You can enjoy the fresh sea air, whilst enjoying a brisk walk, especially if you have been indulging in afternoon tea and cakes. Visit the museum, or have a drink in the local pub. You are certainly spoilt for choice.
