A la Ronde is a unique sixteen-sided house, built for two cousins in the late 18th century. It contains many objects and treasures from their travels around the world, and is an accredited museum. The house itself, and the treasures within, inspire great creativity.

As you go around the house you will enter into a magical world created by Jane and Mary Parminter, on their return from a grand tour of Europe in 1796. They have certainly left their very personal ideas and designs, some of which you won’t have seen anywhere else before! Visit the Octagon Room, that contains 8 doors —yes 8!

As you wander around you will find plenty of artistic objects to feast your eyes on, especially in the drawing room. From pictures on the walls, to decorations around the fireplace. Be sure to visit the Shell Gallery,  where there are hundreds and thousands of shells.

Many artists exhibit their work in the tea room where you will also find a range of tasty snacks, including delicious home-made cakes. Spoil yourself in the shop where there is a great range of gifts, books and cards.

It is certainly an interesting place to visit, I hope you enjoy it there.
