Creating a Better Environment with Energy Work

Energy work, on the whole, is geared towards creating a better environment for yourself – more peaceful, calm, and steady. This in turn helps you to be the best you can. To see the bigger picture. To respond rather than have a knee-jerk reaction to difficult situations. At times, however, we do become set in our ways – too staid and fixed. Sometimes life has a way of giving us a little kick to help shake us up. It helps to identify your emotional blocks.

You can encourage this yourself by the following suggestions:

  • Try out new things
  • Drive a different road
  • Walk a different path
  • Do a different activity
  • Jog instead of walk
  • Listen to a new type of music, or new artist
  • Read a book by a different author
  • Sit in a different seat

Vary your routine

Pay attention to your energy and see how it changes. Think about the law of attraction. Try writing a gratitude journal, even once a week. It isn’t so much about the items you focus on, but more about the act of expressing gratitude. You learn to find the blessings, the gratitude in everything. By deep cleaning your energy you will find yourself freed up to be the person you were born to be.  The person you have always wanted to be.

Energy clearing brings in more clarity and vision to your values

It helps you to understand yourself better and to be true to yourself. Trust in your passions, trust in your desires.  Stay in the present moment.  But what about your shadow self.  An important part of energy work is cleaning out parts of your shadow self.  Have you listened to Elizabeth Gilbert’s podcast  – Magic Lessons?  Why don’t you try it and see what you think? Only you can define what is in your shadow. And only you  can do the clearing necessary.  Of course, always make sure you do this with loving kindness.

Start Noticing

One way to tell if something is affecting your shadow self is by how you find yourself reacting to a situation.  For example, if your reactions are way over the top, such as you take off, you shout, cry or lose your temper – take note of it. Especially if it is out of proportion to the situation. Your goal is to try to turn your reactions into responses before acting on them. Start by noticing your behaviour. The next step is to step back in the moment. Take a few breaths, and make a conscious choice of how you are going to respond rather than just reacting.
