My Christmas Boost Training by Laura Wilson
My Mum treated me to the Boost Training Package for Christmas. How lucky was I! We arrived at Bowerland on Friday afternoon and spent the evening settling into the Old Dairy, which was warm, cosy and had everything you could need. The welcome gifts for both dogs and humans was very much appreciated and added a special touch that I haven’t had anywhere else. I couldn’t wait to start my 1-2-1 lessons with Teresa.
The weather did not dampen our spirits
Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t kind to us and rained the whole week, but that did not dampen our spirits. We visited Roadford Lake and Meldon Reservoir on multiple occasions and the dogs particularly enjoyed Meldon Reservoir where they got to play off lead while I enjoyed the stunning views. We also visited Betty Cottles, which served lovely food and the Sunday carvery was scrumptious. They even had a huge selection of gin where I got to try a few new flavours.
Bowerland Christmas get-together
On the Wednesday evening, we joined the Devon Dogs team for their Christmas get together where we went to an Indian restaurant. The food was lovely, but it was the company that made it special since everyone made me feel welcome.
During our stay I had two 1-2-1 lessons (Five hours in total) with Teresa who taught the European Handling to me and my two agility dogs. It was like learning agility all over again since my brain and body kept wanting to do our old style of handling we were used to! I’m sure Teresa had a few giggles to herself!
Can’t wait to go back next year 🐾
We also got shown a lot of fitness work and had an in depth discussion about how this would benefit both my dogs but in different ways. It helped when Teresa demonstrated some of the fitness with her dog Shady who was super cool. I came away feeling like I had really learnt something and I now have lots to work on at home. I just can’t wait to go back next year. Thank you all!
