Amazing Self-Care Strategies to Try Right Now!

We are all susceptible at times to high levels of pressure and stress. No-one is immune from those times when a whole range of difficult circumstances seem to conspire against us.  These problems can affect all of us, no matter what lifestyle we lead. You could be someone who works in the medical field, who understands about your own body and your health.  Or you could be someone who is in a comfortable financial position. Or perhaps someone in a happy relationship with a kind, and loving family and lots of support around you.

No matter what your lifestyle is, or the circumstances or situation in which you live your life, pressures affect us all at times. What is important for you is that you have a clear set of keystones, your own blueprint to follow. Your own set of options and choices which help you to minimise pressure. And a number of bite size options that you can pick up and do in order to boost your mood throughout your daily life. 

Self-care is how you help to look after yourself.  How you can improve your health, and ways in which you can nourish and nurture yourself.  All you need is a little time, a little energy – it needn’t cost much.

Simple things to boost your mood

 These can be things like:

  • Star gazing/Sun worshiping – being out in the open, out in the fresh air, and marvelling at how wonderful nature can be
  • Wearing your favourite clothes and/or perfume – instantly cheers you up
  • Getting into a warm bath filled with scented bath oils – giving you a sense of luxury, and the feeling of pampering looking yourself
  • Filling your diffuser with a heavenly blend of essential oils – that helps you to breathe in deeply, and surround yourself with pleasant and uplifting smells

Look at ways in which you can build up your energy banks.  When you think of yourself and give yourself self-care, try to think of it like boosting that energy bank. Try to build up your reserves when you are full of vitality, and bursting with energy.  If your bank is full, you are far more likely to be able to cope with any stresses or strains or pressures that come your way. When you are under stress everything seems insurmountable.  Even the normal ways you take care of yourself can become impossible to do.  This is precisely why you need to get the principle of self-care into place well before any crisis hits you.

Imagine yourself as a bank balance

Make sure you deposit regularly and look at how the balance grows. Then when stuff happens, you may need to make a withdrawal from the bank.  Which then in turn needs to be topped up again, as you don’t want it to go into the red.

Too much stress makes us ill and stops our ability to enjoy life to the full. Self-care helps you to become the best version of yourself. It helps you to manage your energy levels by topping up your energy bank, and never letting it go out of balance.
