Our 121 Training by Michelle Taylor

I was scrolling through Facebook and happened to notice some last minute availability in the Annexe at Bowerland Cottages. My husband competes in agility with our dogs, but during the winter season it can be difficult to train. We knew there was an indoor training barn on site at Bowerland, so we decided it was meant to be and booked ourselves in for 4 days. 🙂

I live in the North East of Scotland with my husband and 2 working cocker spaniels, Bailey (8) and Spice (3). So, the four of us set off in the middle of the night to make the 600 mile trip to Devon – we stopped a few times on route for some fresh air and food, and the dogs enjoyed a couple of different walks along the way. It is all part of the holiday after all. 🙂

Arriving at Bowerland

Carole met us upon our arrival at Bowerland – she was lovely and very welcoming to us! When we walked into the Annexe, there were some little treats waiting for us. Even the dogs were catered for with a bed, bowl and some dog treats. A super first impression!

We also booked a number of 121 dog training sessions in the barn, specifically looking at agility and fitness for our dogs. The team were fantastic and met our needs perfectly.

So a big shout out to Teresa, Tash and Michelle!

Okehampton itself is a super little town. We enjoyed lunch in a couple of the local cafes and dinner in some of the local pubs.  We made the most of being on holiday and ate out a lot!!  Be prepared for generous portions if you plan on eating out. Oh, and many places are dog friendly so you can take the pooches with you

Another big bonus are the amazing walks around Bowerland. We were spoilt for choice and could go somewhere new every day. So with all that said, would I visit again??? 100% YES!!!!
