Bowerland - Known in 1254 as 'Borland', by 1578 (when it changed hands for fifty two pounds twelve shillings and six pence!) it had become Bowerlande. The property has had a long and varied history; it is believed that it was used as a POW transit camp in the war - the Napoleonic War!
Today, Bowerland represents a characterful, sympathetically modernised farmhouse and two cosy courtyard cottages, in the lovely peaceful country just beneath the drama of Dartmoor.
